ABOUT

The Content Marketing Awards are presented and owned by the Content Marketing Institute, to recognize and award the best content marketing projects, agencies and marketers in the industry each year. The 2023 Content Marketing Awards include over 60 categories recognizing all aspects of content marketing, from strategy to distribution, from design to editorial. The Content Marketing Awards is the largest international content marketing awards program.

 

HISTORY

The CMAs were launched in 2004 as the Magnum Opus Awards. The program was conducted jointly, by the Content Marketing Institute and McMurry/TMG from 2011-2014. In 2013, the awards program was renamed and rebranded to match the changing industry, presented by the Content Marketing Institute and sponsored by McMurry/TMG. In December 2014, Content Marketing Institute announced their acquisition of the Content Marketing Awards and beginning in 2015, CMI began producing the prestigious awards program.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The awards program is global and open all agencies, companies, organizations and institutions involved in producing content marketing, in print or digital form, for internal or external audiences, but not those created by Content Marketing Institute or any Content Marketing Awards sponsors.

Entries must have been created in calendar year 2022 to qualify for the 2022 awards. If entries were created in 2022 but not “published” or distributed until 2023, they still qualify.

 

ENTRY TIMELINE

Call for Entries is now open through May 26, 2023

$199 per entry Early Bird Entry Fee – Ends April 16, 2023

$260 per entry Regular Entry Fee – ends May 21, 2023

$299 per entry Late Entry Fee – ends May 26, 2023 – Final Entry Deadline

Individual category finalists and winners will be announced in July 2023.

The finalists for Content Marketing Project, Branded Content Campaign, Content Marketing Agency, and Content Marketer of the Year will be announced in August 2023.

The Content Marketing Project, Branded Content Campaign, Content Marketing Agency, and Content Marketer of the Year will all be announced and celebrated at an awards ceremony during Content Marketing World 2023, September 27, 2023. Join us!

 

AGENCY OF THE YEAR

Presented to three agencies; one independent agency with fewer than 100 employees, one with 100+ employees, and one branded studio within a media company. These agencies have distinguished themselves by creating content marketing that serves as a showcase for the entire industry. The Agency of the Year recognition by the Content Marketing Institute is, perhaps, the greatest award honor a content marketing agency can achieve. The judges look at the agency’s projects and performance over the past year, as well as the innovation behind consistent multi-platform publishing. To qualify for Agency of the Year, you must submit at least one project submission and complete the agency of the year entry form. There is a $260 fee to nominate your agency (late entry fee of $299 for nominations submitted after 5/21/23).

 

CONTENT MARKETING PROJECT OF THE YEAR

All entries are eligible for the 2023 Content Marketing Project of the Year; the overall best project from thousands of submissions. The Content Marketing Project of the Year award is like winning the Oscar for Best Picture: it simply cannot get any better. The Content Marketing Awards’ judges look at the finalists in every one of the 80 categories to decide which projects were the “best of the best” in B2B and B2C content marketing.

 

BRANDED CONTENT CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR

All Branded Content Campaign entries submitted to Strategy Categories #26 (B2B) and #27 (B2C) will be eligible for the 2023 Branded Content Campaign of the Year. This award recognizes the most innovative campaigns that successfully used content to deliver exceptional results and accomplish clearly defined marketing objectives.

 

CONTENT MARKETER OF THE YEAR

The Content Marketer of the Year is a special recognition from the Content Marketing Institute. Each year, CMI looks at the great work brand marketers are doing in content marketing. We then compile a shortlist of the “best of the best” and choose one B2B and one B2C marketer who stood above the rest during those 12 months. If you’d like to nominate yourself or a colleague for this honor, you’ll have an opportunity on your entry form.
